The SECO 17003586 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers heat resistance and wear life in high-speed applications. The tool measures 0.1875 inches in diameter with a 9/16-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. Its 5-flute geometry and 45-degree helix angle support aggressive feed rates while maintaining a quality surface finish. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry. This end mill belongs to the SECO Series S545 product family.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. It is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks. The straight shank and right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation make it a standard fit for conventional toolholding systems. It is appropriate for job shops, production floors, and precision component manufacturing where tight tolerances are required.
Designed as an OEM-style cutting tool for use in standard straight-shank toolholders sized for 3/16-inch shank diameter, compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills across a range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials.
This tool is installed by machinists in CNC or manual milling machines using a collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholder rated for 3/16-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Verify runout with a dial indicator prior to cutting; TIR should not exceed 0.0005 inches. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended cutting parameters for the workpiece material grade being machined.
