The SECO 17003425 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 3/4 inch diameter, a 1-5/8 inch (1.6250 inch) length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces chipping at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The AlTiN (PVD) coating provides thermal and oxidation resistance, making it well-suited for dry and semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 35-degree medium helix and 3-flute geometry, it handles both roughing and finishing operations. Installed by machinists and CNC operators, this tool fits standard toolholders via a Weldon flat shank.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where controlled corner geometry is required to produce radiused inside corners and blend surfaces cleanly. Its short length type and single-end, centercutting design make it a practical choice for slot milling, profiling, and stepped-cavity work in ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. It is suited for production environments requiring consistent tolerances across steel, stainless, and superalloy parts.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S). Part of the SECO S335 series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Confirm the Weldon flat is properly aligned with the setscrew before torquing. Verify runout does not exceed the rated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch after tool installation to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life.
