The SECO 17003424 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and hardness retention at elevated cutting temperatures. With 3 right-hand spiral flutes and a 35-degree medium helix, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. It is installed in Weldon flat toolholders by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for single-end, centercutting applications on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its stub-length profile and coarse pitch flute geometry make it well-matched for aggressive material removal in difficult-to-machine alloys. The 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank provides positive rotational drive in compatible toolholders. It performs in applications where tight corner geometry and surface finish are required alongside high material removal rates in ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces.
Designed for use with Weldon flat toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S). Part of the SECO Series S335.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the machine placed in a safe lockout state before tool changes. Verify toolholder bore diameter and Weldon flat setscrew alignment before torquing to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches after installation using a dial indicator before beginning a cut.
