The SECO 17003423 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 5/8 inch mill diameter with a 0.0300 inch corner radius and a 1-5/8 inch length of cut. The 3-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with an AlTiN PVD coating supports both roughing and finishing operations. A 35-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and finishing applications. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in multi-axis and contour milling operations. The Weldon flat shank seats securely in standard toolholders and reduces pullout risk during aggressive cuts. Part of the SECO Series S335, this tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers handling high-temperature alloys and hard ferrous materials where tool life and edge integrity are critical.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch shank. Rated for milling steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys, and titanium (S) per ISO material classification. Series S335 designation applies to SECO tooling configurations for these material groups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat shank securely against the toolholder set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified engagement depth. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before production use to avoid premature edge wear or workpiece dimensional error.
