The SECO 17003422 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 5/8 inch diameter, a 0.030 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. At 3 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity and precision. It is centercutting and handles both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on steel and stainless steel components, as well as superalloys and titanium alloys where edge integrity and coating durability are critical. The Weldon flat shank ensures positive drive in standard toolholders, reducing pullout risk under aggressive feed rates. The coarse pitch flute geometry supports chip evacuation in deep-slot and shoulder milling applications. It is a single-end tool in the SECO S335 series, optimized for right-hand cutting with no coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for flooded or mist coolant delivery from the machine spindle.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch Weldon flat shank. Part of the SECO S335 series. Primary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, S).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat fully into the toolholder and torque the set screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before production cutting.
