The SECO 17003412 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0200 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree medium helix angle. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting temperatures. At 2 inches overall length with a 7/16 inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity and reduced deflection in aggressive passes. It is centercutting and capable of both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and surface finish in hard or heat-resistant alloys are required. The S335 series designation places it within a coarse-pitch geometry optimized for chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine materials. Machinists and tool-and-die shops working aerospace, medical, and high-performance industrial components will find this tool appropriate for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations where corner edge integrity is critical. It accepts standard straight-cylindrical toolholders with a 5/16 inch shank.
Designed for use with straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter. Intended for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in CNC and manual milling applications classified under UNSPSC 27112803.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, compatible straight-cylindrical toolholder before tightening. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum specification before engaging a cut. Consult the toolholder manufacturer and machine tool documentation for appropriate clamping torque and collet specifications.
