The SECO 17003406 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The tool measures 7/32 inches (0.2188 inches) in diameter with a 3/8 inch length of cut and a 0.0200 inch corner radius. An AlTiN PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life in difficult-to-machine alloys. Part of the Series S335, this single-end, centercutting tool runs in a right-hand cutting direction with a right-hand spiral flute orientation and a medium helix angle of 35 degrees. It is suited for both roughing and finishing operations and is installed in standard straight-bore toolholders.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight tolerances and edge integrity are required on steel, stainless steel, and superalloy workpieces. The short flute length and coarse pitch geometry make it well-suited for applications where chip evacuation and rigidity take priority. The 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits a wide range of collet chucks and end mill holders commonly used in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tooling technicians working with exotic alloys or aerospace-grade materials will find the S335 geometry appropriate for those demands.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch cylindrical shank. Optimized for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces on CNC milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and free of chips before seating the shank to maintain runout within the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches. Verify machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material and coating type.
