The SECO 17003402 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-removal applications. Built to Series S335 standards, it features a 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree helix angle. The tool is single-end, centercutting, and carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life when working in high-heat, abrasive conditions. Overall length is 2 inches, with a 5/16 inch length of cut. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians install this tool in standard cylindrical toolholders.
This end mill is rated for both roughing and finishing passes in a short-reach configuration. The coarse pitch, medium helix geometry, and AlTiN coating make it well suited for milling steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys. It accepts a 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank and is intended for use with standard toolholders in CNC machining centers and manual mills operating on ferrous and high-temp alloy workpieces.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium alloys per material codes P, M, and S. Part of the SECO S335 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the 3/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into the toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inch before operation. Confirm coolant-through is not available on this tool and adjust coolant delivery strategy accordingly.
