The SECO 17003175 is a single-end, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length with a 1 inch straight shank. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers the edge integrity and wear resistance demanded by high-speed aluminum finishing and profiling work. A 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. Three spiral flutes provide a balance between chip clearance and cutting stability. This tool is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
The 17003175 is suited for milling aluminum, brass, copper, plastics, and other non-ferrous materials in both CNC machining center and manual mill applications. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for non-ferrous work where coatings can cause material adhesion. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional spindle setups. This is a Series A345 tool intended for shops running production or prototype work where dimensional accuracy and surface finish in soft metals are the primary requirements.
Designed for use in standard 1 inch tool holders, collet chucks, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals (Material Code N). Series A345.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout verification. Confirm TIR does not exceed 0.0005 inches after seating the tool in the holder, as specified. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
