The SECO 17003151 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut, and a 3-flute configuration with a 45-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry. The micrograin carbide construction delivers edge retention and dimensional accuracy in high-speed operations. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers specify this tool for finishing and semi-finishing passes on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and similar low-abrasion materials. The stub-length profile limits overhang and improves rigidity during short-reach operations. The 3/8-inch straight shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders common to most vertical machining center setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match conventional milling spindle rotation. The Series A345 designation identifies it within the SECO fractional-inch solid carbide end mill line.
Designed for use with aluminum and non-ferrous materials (Primary Workpiece Material Code: N) as specified in the SECO Series A345 solid carbide end mill line. Fits standard 3/8-inch straight-shank toolholders and ER collet systems.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Verify collet or toolholder bore size matches the 3/8-inch shank before clamping. Inspect runout after installation — maximum specified TIR is 0.0005 inches — and re-seat the tool if runout exceeds this value. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the target workpiece material.
