The SECO 17003145 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous metals. Measuring 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 0.4375-inch length of cut, this single-end mill runs a 45-degree helix angle with three spiral flutes for efficient chip evacuation. The bright uncoated finish is suited for non-ferrous applications where coating buildup could affect tool performance. Machining professionals and CNC operators use this tool in production and jobshop environments where tight tolerances and clean edge geometry are required.
This end mill is intended for cutting aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials, matching the N-grade workpiece material classification. The 5/16-inch shank diameter fits standard tool holders used on vertical machining centers and manual mills. Its 2.5-inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in typical shallow-to-medium-depth milling passes, reducing deflection on detail cuts and slotting operations.
Designed as a Series A345 replacement-style solid carbide square end mill for use with standard 5/16-inch tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines cutting aluminum and non-ferrous materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a calibrated tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to avoid premature tool wear or dimensional error.
