The SECO 17003141 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a 0.25-inch straight shank. The tool runs a 3-flute, 45-degree helix spiral configuration and cuts right-hand with right-hand flute direction. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern. Micrograin carbide construction provides edge integrity at higher feed rates typical in aluminum machining. This is a centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece.
The 17003141 is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations on aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials in both job shop and production environments. The single-end configuration and standard straight shank make it compatible with common collet chucks and end mill holders found on CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is part of the SECO Series A345 and carries a fractional-inch measurement system, making it a direct fit for inch-system setups.
Designed for milling aluminum and non-ferrous materials (primary workpiece material code N) and belongs to SECO Series A345. Compatible with 0.25-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tooling changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and lockout state. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matching the 0.25-inch shank diameter to ensure runout stays within the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches. Confirm clamping torque and holder cleanliness before operation. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety procedures for high-speed cutting tools.
