The SECO 17003137 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for tight-tolerance work. The tool runs a 3/16 inch diameter with a 9/16 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. A 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in non-ferrous applications, while the bright uncoated finish suits materials where coated tools are unnecessary or counterproductive. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a centercutting geometry allow plunge entry as well as standard peripheral milling. Licensed machinists, tool and die shops, and precision CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills used in light-duty to production-volume work on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous stock. The straight shank and fractional inch sizing make it a direct fit for standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in job shop and production environments. The Series A345 designation places it within a defined product family from SECO. No extended reach or coolant-through features are included, keeping the design straightforward for general-purpose non-ferrous milling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool for standard straight-shank end mill holders and ER collet chucks accepting 3/16 inch shank diameters in fractional inch tooling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut to the holder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
