The SECO 17002988 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for material removal and profiling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4 inch mill diameter, a 4 inch length of cut, and a 6.5 inch overall length with a 3/4 inch straight shank. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a bright uncoated finish, this tool delivers consistent dimensional accuracy and edge integrity in demanding cutting applications. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials in single-end configurations. The Series A245 designation places it within SECO's standard fractional-inch tooling lineup for general-purpose milling operations. Its two-flute configuration provides larger chip gullets, which is advantageous when cutting softer, gummier non-ferrous materials where chip packing is a concern. Typical applications include slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge cutting where a regular-length tool is appropriate.

This end mill is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a compatible 3/4 inch tool holder; ensure the holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm spindle and tool runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling per standard shop lockout/tagout procedures. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the specific workpiece material and machine spindle.
