The SECO 17002955 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling in aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Ground from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for clean, accurate cuts in production and job-shop environments. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, which is critical when machining gummy non-ferrous alloys. With a 7/32-inch cutting diameter and a 2-flute configuration, this tool runs at elevated surface speeds while maintaining a light, manageable chip load. CNC machinists and manual mill operators alike will find it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations.
This end mill fits residential, commercial, and production machining applications where tight tolerances and surface finish matter on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpieces. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for non-ferrous work where coatings can cause built-up edge. It belongs to the SECO Series A245 family and is sold as a single unit.
Designed as a direct-fit tool for 1/4-inch straight shank collets and tool holders. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous (material code N). Part of the SECO Series A245.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or machine operators. Secure the 1/4-inch straight shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder, torquing to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet and bore for wear or runout before seating; the TIR maximum for this tool is 0.0005 inches. Always de-energize and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling, following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures.
