The SECO 17002950 is a single-end square end mill designed for high-precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers rigidity and edge retention in applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge when cutting soft metals. At 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) in diameter with a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) length of cut, this is a short-series tool suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight geometries. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is sized for light-duty milling passes in aluminum alloys, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials. The 3/16 inch straight shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 2-inch overall length keeps deflection low for this diameter range. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling. Series A245 designates this as a SECO short-series fractional-inch carbide end mill in the uncoated bright finish family.

A licensed machinist or CNC tooling technician should install this tool using a calibrated collet chuck or end mill holder torqued per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Confirm runout does not exceed the listed TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before beginning a cut. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not use this uncoated tool on ferrous materials, as it is not designed for that application.
