The SECO 17002765 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 0.04 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0625 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch straight shank, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity and accuracy in tight-tolerance work. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance when cutting hard and abrasive materials. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The stub length-of-cut range, rated up to 0.1000 inches, makes it appropriate for shallow pocketing, slotting, and profiling passes where tool deflection must be minimized. It is part of the SECO MES430 series, which targets small-diameter precision work in CNC machining centers and manual mills.

This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators using an appropriate collet or end mill holder sized for a 1/8 inch shank. Ensure the spindle and any power feeds are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout does not exceed the specified TIR maximum of 0.0002 inches after seating the tool in the holder, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear at this diameter. Do not exceed the recommended depth-of-cut range for the stub flute length.
