The SECO 17002674 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys. The 0.115-inch cutting diameter and 0.345-inch length of cut make it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in tight geometries. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, while the four-flute configuration balances feed rate capability with surface finish quality. It is centercutting, enabling direct plunge entry into the workpiece.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills where precise small-diameter work is required. The Series ME430 designation places it within a family of general-purpose solid carbide end mills. Its uncoated bright finish makes it a straightforward choice for shops that prefer to apply their own coatings or that run lower-speed operations where coating adhesion temperatures are a concern. Typical applications include mold and die work, prototype machining, and precision component manufacturing across job shop and production environments.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and high-temperature alloys as listed by the manufacturer. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for other Series ME430 end mills with equivalent diameter and shank specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut; maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0005 inches.
