The SECO 17002640 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. With a 0.033-inch cutting diameter and 0.099-inch length of cut, this tool is purpose-built for fine-detail and micro-milling work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent performance. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece as well as cut laterally. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for a broad range of base materials.
This end mill is designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and small-feature work are required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. It is well suited for die and mold work, prototype machining, and precision component manufacturing. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet systems commonly found in vertical machining centers and compact CNC platforms. A 1-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and limits deflection at small diameters.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specified value. Verify runout against the stated maximum TIR of 0.0002 inches before beginning a cut to prevent premature edge failure at this diameter.
