The SECO 17002576 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Part of the MESB230 series, it features a 0.0200-inch mill diameter with a 0.0300-inch length of cut, making it suited for fine-detail work in small-feature machining. The submicron carbide grade delivers edge stability at small diameters. With a 2-flute, right-hand spiral configuration and a 30-degree medium helix angle, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations. It ships bright and uncoated, with a 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5000-inch overall length. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in precision shops are the primary users.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The short-series length and small diameter make it well-suited for micro-milling operations on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles where runout control and rigidity are critical. It is a single-end tool, center-cutting capable, with no extended reach or coolant-through features, fitting standard collet toolholding setups that accept a 0.1250-inch shank.

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom operators. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder and verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0001 inches before cutting. Ensure the spindle and any automatic tool changer are fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. At this diameter, avoid excessive overhang beyond the rated reach length to prevent tool deflection and breakage.
