The SECO 17002461 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.0200-inch mill diameter with a 0.0100-inch nose radius, a 0.0600-inch length of cut, and a 1.5000-inch overall length with a 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 2-flute, right-hand cutting spiral geometry runs at a 30-degree medium helix angle and is manufactured from submicron-grade carbide with a bright/uncoated finish. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for fine detail work in tight geometries. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in precision machining environments are the primary users.
This ball end mill is designed for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. The machine spindle must be at a full stop and the control in a safe state before tooling changes are made. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the machine and toolholder manufacturer specifications. At this diameter, runout control is critical: verify TIR does not exceed 0.0001 inches after tool setup to protect the cutting edge and maintain dimensional accuracy.
