The SECO 17002407 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision micro-milling operations. With a 0.025-inch cutting diameter and a 0.075-inch length of cut, this tool is engineered for tight-tolerance work in small-feature applications. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length make it suitable for use in standard collet systems. Micrograin carbide construction supports rigidity and edge retention at small diameters. The 30-degree helix angle with right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This is a single-end, centercutting tool in the ME230 series, sold uncoated.
This end mill is suited for precision machining of small features in materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys. Typical applications include slot milling, profiling, and pocket milling where feature sizes demand sub-1/16-inch tooling. It is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC milling centers or precision manual mills. No coolant-through capability; external coolant or mist systems should be used as appropriate for the workpiece material.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collet systems on CNC or manual milling machines. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and high-temperature alloys per SECO material codes P, M, K, N, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter tooling. Secure the shank in a precision collet or end mill holder rated for 1/8-inch diameter; avoid side-lock holders that may induce runout at this diameter. Maximum TIR is 0.0001 inches — verify holder and spindle runout before use. Handle with care; micro-diameter carbide tools are brittle and will fracture if dropped or subjected to lateral shock.
