The SECO 17002373 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the S938R series specification, it features a 1-inch cutting diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 0.0300-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge. The 9-flute, super-close-pitch geometry combined with an AlTiN PVD coating supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. A 38-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium in production environments where tool life and surface finish consistency are critical. The short-length configuration and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard precision toolholders used in CNC milling centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. It is appropriate for shops running tight-tolerance work where a corner radius tolerance of plus or minus 0.00100 inches and a mill diameter tolerance of -0.0020 to 0.0000 inches must be maintained.
Designed for use with standard precision toolholders in CNC milling applications. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the end mill. Verify runout does not exceed the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches after clamping. Confirm spindle direction and cutting parameters match the right-hand cutting specification before initiating any program cycle.
