The SECO 17002368 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in ferrous and high-temp alloy applications. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0300-inch corner radius, and 9 flutes arranged in a super-close pitch pattern that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The micrograin carbide substrate adds toughness and edge retention under high chip loads. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers by tool-and-die machinists, production machinists, and precision manufacturing shops.
Part of the SECO S938R series, the 17002368 is suited to deep-cavity milling, shoulder milling, and contour work where a long length of cut and corner protection are required. The 3-1/4-inch length of cut accommodates deep-reach applications in mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general job shop production involving steel and superalloy workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flute configuration are standard for conventional CNC toolholder setups. This end mill is a single-end tool designed for use with standard straight-shank toolholders.
Designed for use with straight-shank cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material groups P, M, K, and S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated to the minimum engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches to protect edge integrity and achieve rated tolerances. Do not use this tool in a drill press or manual mill without confirmed rigidity and proper workholding.
