Product Description

The SECO 17002363 is a 9-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It carries a 0.0300-inch corner radius, a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, and a 2-1/4-inch length of cut. The micrograin carbide substrate is coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive materials. A 38-degree helix angle and super-close pitch geometry support both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. This end mill is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute design intended for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders.

This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — material application codes P, M, K, and S. The S938R series targets shops running high-feed or high-speed strategies on difficult-to-machine alloys where tool life and surface finish consistency are critical. It fits production and job-shop environments running CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers. The single-end design is standard for indexing toolpaths where full length of cut engagement is required across deep-wall or shoulder features.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a CNC machining center. Ensure the toolholder bore and retention mechanism are clean and free of chips before inserting the shank. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum specification after seating to avoid premature edge wear. Do not use this end mill in centercutting operations — this tool is not centercutting and is not designed for plunge entry.
