The SECO 17002362 is a 9-flute solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN via PVD process, it delivers the heat resistance and edge retention needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The 0.0100-inch chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle breaks edges cleanly while maintaining dimensional accuracy. A variable flute index and 38-degree medium helix combine to reduce chatter and improve chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing operations. This end mill is suited for milling operations across a range of workpiece materials classified under ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. Typical applications include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing. The super close pitch and single-end, right-hand cutting geometry make it a reliable choice for production environments running steel and stainless components. It carries Series S938 designation and is manufactured to a mill diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0020 inches, supporting tight-tolerance work in job shops and production cells alike.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO P, M, K, S). Coolant-through is not supported; external flood or mist coolant is the appropriate delivery method.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool must be secured in a precision collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 3/4-inch shank diameter to stay within the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification. Confirm the spindle and workholding are fully stopped and powered down before tool changes. Do not use this tool for centercutting or direct plunge entry without a helical or ramp-down approach path, as the end geometry is not center-cutting.
