The SECO 17002351 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 5/8 inch diameter, a 0.1200 inch corner radius, and 9 flutes in a super close pitch configuration, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1.625 inch length of cut, and the 38-degree medium helix promotes chip evacuation and surface finish in tough alloys.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines where tight tolerances and aggressive material removal are required. The straight cylindrical shank measures 5/8 inch in diameter and seats directly into standard toolholders. Typical applications include profile milling, shoulder milling, and contour finishing on steel and stainless components in aerospace, die and mold, and general machining environments. It is a single-end tool from the SECO S938R series, built around micrograin carbide substrate for edge retention in hard and abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 5/8 inch straight shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium per material application codes P, M, K, and S. Part of the SECO S938R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or turret is in a safe state before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout against the specified TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before cutting. Do not use this tool in center-cutting applications, as it is not center-cutting capable.
