The SECO 17002349 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 0.0600-inch corner radius that reduces edge chipping and extends tool life in roughing and finishing operations. The nine-flute, super-close pitch geometry paired with an AlTiN PVD coating delivers heat resistance and wear performance at elevated cutting speeds. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill fits applications where a combination of high flute count and a tight corner radius is needed to hold surface finish while removing material efficiently. It is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers running steel and high-temp alloy parts. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. The single-end design and right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting make it a direct fit for conventional right-hand spindle setups common in CNC milling operations.
Designed for use with standard collet-style and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 0.625-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer for the S938R series.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Seat the shank fully to the recommended gauge line in the holder and verify runout against the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification before running. Do not use this tool in a toolholder that does not meet the shank diameter tolerance range of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches, as improper fit will affect runout and tool life.
