The SECO 17002341 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0600 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and improves surface finish at part edges. The 7-flute, close-pitch design supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool, and the AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. This is a long-series, single-end tool from the S738R series.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and milling fixtures where tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring are required. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. It is suited for production shops and job shops running ferrous and high-temperature alloy components, particularly where a corner radius is specified by part print to reduce stress risers. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout against the stated TIR maximum of 0.0005 inch before running. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the part. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be plunged axially into solid material.
