The SECO 17002340 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge. Seven right-hand spiral flutes with a 38-degree helix angle and close pitch geometry support efficient chip evacuation. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal and abrasion resistance during high-speed cutting of ferrous and hard-to-machine materials. This tool is suited for CNC milling operations where both roughing and finishing passes are required in a single setup.
This end mill is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Its long-length configuration, 4 inch overall length with a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank, allows access to deeper features and pockets while maintaining rigidity. It is a single-end tool intended for use in compatible toolholders on CNC machining centers. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with appropriate runout verification before initiating a cut — maximum TIR for this tool is 0.0005 inches as specified. Confirm tool projection length and holder compatibility before mounting to avoid excessive overhang. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds guidelines for the specific workpiece material when programming this tool.
