The SECO 17002334 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Measuring 0.5 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length, this single-end tool features seven flutes with a variable index, super close pitch, and a 45-degree chamfer angle at 0.006 inches chamfer width. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat and wear resistance for extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Designed for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments, it supports roughing and finishing operations in a single tool setup.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. It targets steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, covering ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. The straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand cutting and flute direction make it compatible with standard ER and end mill collet systems. The micrograin carbide substrate supports both the dimensional stability and edge integrity required in tight-tolerance work. It is not center-cutting and does not feature coolant-through capability.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material groups P, M, K, and S). Part of the SECO Series S738 corner chamfer end mill line. Manufacturer catalog reference S738-0.500-D3-C006.0-Z7.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The tool should be secured in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder, torqued to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting the tool.
