The SECO 17002333 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and seven flutes ground to a close pitch for aggressive chip evacuation. The AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Designed for single-end use, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup, making it a practical choice for machinists and toolroom professionals working in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers where close-tolerance profiling, contouring, and peripheral milling of hard or abrasive workpiece materials are required. The S738R series short-length geometry reduces deflection during high-feed passes. The straight cylindrical shank seats directly into standard toolholders without adapters. Its right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are compatible with conventional CNC spindle configurations used in production and job-shop environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before tightening. This tool is non-centercutting and requires a pre-drilled or pre-bored entry point for any axial plunge moves. Verify spindle runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cutting cycle.
