The SECO 17002332 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0300 inch corner radius, with 7 flutes configured in a right-hand spiral for efficient chip evacuation. The tool carries an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, which provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting at elevated speeds. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. It belongs to SECO Series S738R and is rated for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. The short flute length and close pitch make it effective in applications requiring high material removal rates with controlled radial and axial loads. It is a single-end tool intended for use with standard toolholders. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing will find this tool appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes where edge integrity is critical.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium as designated by material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before initiating a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or coating wear during regular tool-change intervals.
