The SECO 17002327 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal cutting in industrial machining environments. This single-end tool features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 7-flute configuration with variable flute spacing (super close pitch), and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0050 inch chamfer width. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and abrasive materials. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 1.5 inch length of cut, it is sized for reach-demanding applications. Installation and operation are performed by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials (material codes P, M, K, S). It supports a wide range of machining operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindles. This end mill is installed by qualified machinists into CNC machining centers with a compatible straight-cylindrical shank toolholder sized for a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before use. Confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable limits prior to cutting, as micrograin carbide is sensitive to vibration and improper clamping. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when loading or unloading cutting tools.
