The SECO 17002325 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. The 3/8 inch diameter cutting tool features 7 flutes in a close-pitch spiral configuration and a 0.0150 inch corner radius, making it suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. The 38-degree medium helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces vibration during aggressive cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in compatible toolholders on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is appropriate for precision milling operations in job shops, tool and die, aerospace, and general metalworking environments where close tolerances are required. The Series S738R designation places it within SECO's standard-length corner radius family. Its single-end, right-hand cutting geometry suits climb and conventional milling in ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The 1 inch length of cut accommodates shoulder milling and slotting at moderate depths without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys and titanium as identified by material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped before tool changes. Confirm toolholder runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life. Verify shank seating depth according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before clamping. This tool is not center-cutting and should not be used for plunge entry.
