The SECO 17002320 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) cutting diameter, a 0.2500 inch corner radius, and seven flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral with a 38-degree medium helix. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, making it suitable for dry or near-dry cutting at elevated temperatures. Designed for single-end use in a straight-cylindrical shank toolholder, this end mill handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The micrograin carbide substrate supports precise edge retention across extended tool life.
This end mill is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium in CNC milling applications. The extra-long 1-1/4 inch length of cut (1.2500 inches) allows deeper axial engagement than standard-length tools, making it well suited for profiling, slotting, and pocket milling where reach is a factor. The close pitch, seven-flute geometry supports stable cutting at higher feed rates. It is typically installed in precision collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, or shrink-fit holders. Not designed for center-cutting or plunge entry.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inch) shank diameter. Part of the SECO S738R series. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Secure the 0.2500 inch straight shank in a precision toolholder rated for the intended spindle speed and feed rate; verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch maximum TIR specification before cutting. This tool is not center-cutting and must not be used for direct plunge entry. Confirm workpiece is fixtured rigidly and all guards are in place before spindle engagement.
