The SECO 17002223 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.2500 inch mill diameter, a 0.5000 inch length of cut, and a 4.0000 inch overall length, making it a long-reach tool suited for deeper pocket and slot work. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in aluminum and other gummy non-ferrous alloys. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers edge retention and rigidity in demanding cutting conditions. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments.
This end mill is configured for single-end use with a right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute. The centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral milling operations. With a 1.5 inch reach length and straight shank, it fits standard collet and end mill holders. The uncoated bright finish makes it well suited for aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials where coatings can cause built-up edge. It is part of the SECO AN345 series, a long-length line targeted at extended-reach applications in light-metal machining.
Designed as an OEM-specification tool in the SECO AN345 long-length series, intended for use with aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials (material code N). Fits standard 1/4 inch collet and end mill holder systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and within specified runout tolerance before seating the shank. The TIR maximum for this tool is 0.0005 inches — verify holder runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the tool diameter, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
