The SECO 17002215 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 0.030-inch corner radius, and a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) PVD coating that reduces friction and extends tool life on aluminum, copper, and similar materials. With 3 flutes and a high-helix spiral geometry at 40 degrees, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the single-end configuration suits standard toolholder setups. This tool is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC milling applications.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing operations on non-ferrous metals in both production and job-shop environments. The Series AN340 short-length geometry with extended reach makes it practical for pocketing, profiling, and contour milling where moderate reach is needed. The 1-inch length of cut, 2-7/8-inch reach length, and 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank seat securely in standard toolholders. The coarse pitch flute configuration handles aggressive material removal while the TiCN coating maintains edge integrity across extended run times.
Designed for use with standard CNC milling toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for non-ferrous metal workpiece materials (material code N) per the AN340 series specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the 3/4-inch shank in a clean, undamaged toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005-inch TIR maximum before cutting. Confirm spindle speed and feed rates are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Do not use this tool on ferrous materials, as the TiCN coating and geometry are optimized for non-ferrous applications.
