Product Description

The SECO 17002185 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.030 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at workpiece corners and extends tool life. With 3 flutes and a high helix spiral geometry, it supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The bright uncoated finish is suited for aluminum and other non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion or heat transfer is a concern. Overall length is 4 inches with a 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank.

This end mill is built for machining non-ferrous metals including aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and similar materials. The AN340 series extended-reach design, with a 1-7/8 inch reach length and 0.720 inch neck diameter, accommodates deeper pocket milling and contour work where standard stub tools cannot reach. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, allowing plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling. It is compatible with standard straight-bore toolholders and collet chucks used on CNC machining centers and manual mills.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with the appropriate torque specification for the toolholder in use before beginning any cutting operation. Verify runout does not exceed the 0.0005 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for proper collet or chuck engagement with the 3/4 inch straight cylindrical shank.
