The SECO 17002169 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in non-ferrous metal applications. With a 0.25 inch mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes, it delivers a combination of roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The high helix angle of 40 degrees promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion can cause buildup. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production environments, and toolroom settings.
This end mill fits standard toolholder setups and is appropriate for light-to-moderate material removal on non-ferrous workpieces. The short length-of-cut geometry combined with an extended reach of 1.75 inches makes it useful in pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations where access depth is a factor. The AN340 series designation identifies it within SECOs catalog of general-purpose carbide end mills intended for both manual and CNC machining centers.

Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before handling or changing the end mill. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cut. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for set screws or collet nuts — do not over-tighten, as this can induce shank distortion on small-diameter carbide tools.
