The SECO 17002168 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precise milling of non-ferrous metals in both roughing and finishing operations. The tool features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0100-inch corner radius, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree high helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and controlled material removal. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.3125-inch length of cut, this is a stub-length tool built for rigidity and accuracy in close-tolerance work. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians operating vertical or horizontal milling equipment.
This end mill is intended for use on non-ferrous metal workpieces including aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The AN340 series stub configuration provides extended reach via a 0.75-inch reach length and a reduced 0.24-inch neck diameter, allowing access to recessed features without sacrificing tool stiffness. The bright, uncoated finish is well-suited for non-ferrous applications where coating buildup or thermal considerations are a concern. It mounts in standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch shank.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the toolholder collet or chuck and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0005 inches before beginning a cutting operation.
