The SECO 17002064 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built to Series STRN440 specifications, it features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0200-inch corner radius, and a 1/2-inch length of cut. The 4-inch overall length and 2-1/8-inch extended reach make it well suited for deep-pocket and hard-to-reach cutting applications. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when machining abrasive or high-temperature alloys. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
The 17002064 is engineered primarily for stainless steel machining and performs in applications where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. The variable index and variable helix geometry reduce harmonic vibration, improving stability during aggressive cuts. The Weldon flat shank provides secure tool retention in standard end mill holders. Single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. This tool fits production machining, aerospace component work, and precision fabrication where tight tolerances are required.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch Weldon flat end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel. Suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills capable of accepting a 3/8-inch shank tool with a Weldon flat drive flat.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Torque the Weldon flat set screw to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as runout beyond acceptable limits will accelerate edge wear and reduce dimensional accuracy.
