The SECO 17001137 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.5625-inch (9/16-inch) cutting diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 3.5-inch overall length. The 5-flute, single-end geometry with a 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating provides heat and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. The straight shank measures 0.5625 inches in diameter with tight tolerances, supporting secure tool holding and minimal runout. This end mill is suited for use by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
The SECO 17001137 Series S545 end mill is rated for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. Its center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry, making it versatile for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC milling setups. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or air blast is recommended when machining heat-sensitive materials.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 0.5625-inch (9/16-inch) shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (high-temp alloy), N (aluminum and non-ferrous), and H (hardened materials) per ISO material classification. This end mill is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians into a compatible collet or end mill holder rated for the 0.5625-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify tool holder runout before committing to finish passes, particularly on hardened material applications where TIR directly affects surface quality. No coolant-through ports are present — use external flood coolant or air blast as appropriate for the material being cut.
