The SECO 17000098 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding materials where standard coatings fall short. It carries a CVD diamond coating, making it well-suited for machining abrasive non-ferrous materials, composites, and graphite. The mill measures 0.0938 inches (3/32 inches) in cutting diameter with a 9/32-inch length of cut (LOC) and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The extended-reach geometry, featuring a 1.5-inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.0860 inches, allows access to deep or confined part features without compromising rigidity in the cutting zone.
This end mill is intended for CNC milling operations in tool and die, aerospace, medical device, and mold-making environments where tight tolerances and abrasion resistance are required. The single-end design with a straight-cylindrical 1/8-inch shank suits standard collet and end mill holder setups. The extended overall length of 3 inches and the reduced neck profile make it a practical choice for reaching into deep pockets, slots, or contoured surfaces on complex workpieces. It is sold individually and supports both roughing and finishing material removal strategies.
Part of the SECO DIAXRB430 series (catalog number DIAXRB430-0.094-G4-B.0-Z4). Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 1/8-inch collets or end mill holders compatible with straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder to the recommended insertion depth, and verify runout does not exceed the TIR specification before running production. Consult the machine and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for proper torque and clamping procedures specific to your setup.
