The SECO 17000088 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision material removal in graphite and similarly abrasive workpiece materials. It features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) mill diameter, a 0.0100 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The diamond coating applied via CVD process delivers the extreme surface hardness needed to resist the accelerated tool wear that graphite consistently produces. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-1/2 inch extended reach, this tool is suited for accessing deep pockets and narrow cavities where shorter tools cannot reach.
This end mill is designed for single-end, centercutting operation, making it capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot cutting. Its 9/32 inch length of cut and 0.0860 inch neck diameter allow it to operate in tight clearance zones typical of graphite electrode machining, mold detail work, and similar high-precision CNC applications. The straight cylindrical shank measures 1/8 inch in diameter and seats directly into standard toolholders. The Series DIAXRR430 designation identifies it within the SECO extended-reach diamond-coated line for non-metallic abrasive materials.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch cylindrical shank. Intended primarily for graphite workpiece materials as identified by material application code O in the SECO Series DIAXRR430 product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the 1/8 inch shank fully into the toolholder collet and verify runout against the 0.0003 inch TIR maximum before cutting. Graphite machining produces fine conductive dust — use appropriate dust extraction or enclosure systems and follow shop safety protocols for abrasive particulate. Do not use this tool on metallic workpieces, as the CVD diamond coating is not suited for ferrous or most non-ferrous metal applications.
