The SECO 17000025 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 7 inch overall length, placing it in the long-reach category. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in softer materials, while the micrograin carbide construction delivers edge integrity under demanding cut conditions. The bright/uncoated finish is well-suited for non-ferrous alloys where coating buildup can be a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working with aluminum, brass, copper, or similar materials will find this tool aligned to those applications.
This end mill is built for production and job-shop environments running aluminum and non-ferrous workpieces. The extended reach design, with a 4-1/8 inch reach length, allows access to deep pockets and tall workpiece features that standard-length tools cannot reach. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. The single-end, center-cutting design permits plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling operations. It carries the SECO Series AN345 designation.
Designed for milling aluminum and non-ferrous materials (ISO material group N) in single-end milling applications using standard 3/4 inch tool holders compatible with straight-shank end mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the straight shank in a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the shank diameter and verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches before cutting. Power down and lock out the spindle before any tool change. Do not exceed the tool's recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the workpiece material to avoid deflection on the extended reach geometry.
