The SECO 17000024 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Part of the AN345 series, it features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in soft, gummy materials, reducing built-up edge. With three flutes and a bright/uncoated finish, this tool delivers clean surface finishes without the added friction of a coating. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity and edge retention needed for high-speed passes in aluminum, brass, and copper. Qualified machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling in aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous workpiece materials. The long-length profile and 3.5 inch reach length make it appropriate for deeper cavities and stepped features where a standard-length tool cannot reach. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center spindles. Single-end construction is typical for production use where tool replacement is straightforward.
Designed for use in aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials (Primary Workpiece Material Code: N) as specified by the manufacturer. Fits standard 3/4 inch straight-shank tool holders, collets, and end mill adapters on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with appropriate spindle speeds for carbide tooling.
This tool is installed and operated by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with carbide end mill speeds and feeds for non-ferrous materials. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify collet or holder bore is free of chips and within the shank diameter tolerance range before torquing the retention nut. Do not use this tool on ferrous materials, as the uncoated bright finish and geometry are not optimized for steel or cast iron applications.
