The SECO 17000014 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for material removal in aluminum and non-ferrous applications. Built on the Series AN345 platform, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter with a 3-flute, 45-degree helix spiral configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and edge retention required for high-speed milling passes. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging cuts in aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous materials. The long-length designation and 1-1/8 inch reach length make it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets or stepped features. The uncoated bright finish is standard for non-ferrous cutting where coating buildup on soft materials can be a concern. The straight shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Primary workpiece material designation is aluminum and non-ferrous (ISO material code N). Part of the SECO AN345 series.
Installation is performed by machinists using collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 3/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout against the TIR maximum specification after seating the tool in the holder. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds for solid carbide tooling in non-ferrous materials; consult the machine manufacturer and tooling documentation for programmed parameters.
