The SECO 17000006 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision material removal in graphite and similarly abrasive workpiece materials. It carries a CVD diamond coating that extends tool life in applications where uncoated carbide would wear rapidly. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.0200-inch corner radius, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a 30-degree medium helix supports both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool, reducing changeovers on the spindle.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and tool-and-die shops working with graphite electrodes, composite tooling blocks, and similar abrasive non-metallic materials. The centercutting configuration allows plunge entries without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Its straight cylindrical shank at 0.25 inches diameter seats directly into standard collet-style or hydraulic toolholders used in precision milling setups. The normal pitch and right-hand cutting direction are consistent with conventional milling practice on graphite workpieces.
Designed for use with standard collet, hydraulic, or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is graphite; the CVD diamond coating is specifically selected for abrasive, non-metallic applications within the DIACR430 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder bore and torque the collet nut or clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the cutting edge with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, keeping in mind the 0.0005-inch maximum TIR specification for this tool.
