The SECO 10268734 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Built on SECO's C5121 series, this stub-length tool features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 2-flute helical configuration, and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and cutting stability. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the edge toughness required for demanding ferrous and specialty-alloy applications. A SIRON-A coating enhances wear resistance and thermal performance at the cutting edge. Installed by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC machining centers and manual milling operations.
This end mill is suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in steel and stainless steel workpieces across both production and job-shop environments. Its stub-length geometry provides rigidity and reduces deflection in applications where tool overhang must be minimized. The center-cutting design allows for direct plunge entry into workpiece material. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are compatible with standard spindle configurations. No extended reach or coolant-through capability is included, making this tool appropriate for conventional flood or mist cooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-grade solid carbide end mill for use with steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and high-temperature alloys (S) as defined by ISO material codes. Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter per ANSI B94.19 tolerances.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Verify that the toolholder bore and collet are clean and within tolerance before clamping to maintain runout within the specified 0.0005-inch TIR maximum. Confirm cutting parameters — speed, feed, and depth of cut — match the workpiece material and machine capability before starting the cut.
